Is there an alternative to a laptop if all you wish to do is type notes and papers? like a word processer?

   There are AlphaSmarts. Those are pretty much what you just described. I’ve seen them used in schools a lot. They’re kind of a cross between a basic word processor and a low-end laptop.

   yes its called a typewriter ( I prefer the electric ones)
